Kendra Jolivet, Director of
Operations
For the past 20 years, Kendra’s life has centered on children and the
entertainment industry. In 1990, she decided to attend law school
and tested the entertainment waters by working one summer as a legal
intern at WJZ-TV in the consumer news unit. After graduating from law
school, she worked a few years at a litigation law firm before venturing
out to start her own law practice in 1997. She began to represent over
seven hundred (700) Children In Need of Assistance (CINA) abuse and neglect
hearings in Baltimore City. Although working with the CINA cases kept
her busy she still managed to build a solid client base ranging from
artists, musicians, filmmakers and managers to lawyers, doctors, and
business owners. Early in her legal career, Kendra was also the youth
choir director at her local church. Since college, Kendra has planned
several events for professionals, including but not limited to, upscale
parties, receptions, seminars and networking events.
Kendra presently serves as the Project Manager over a Multi-Million
Dollar Contract with the State of Maryland to represent CINA children.
Kendra’s current law firm employs a staff of nineteen people and has
a tremendous impact daily on the lives of inner city youth. Her law
firm regularly hires high school and college interns to expose students
to the business and legal worlds. Kendra is an active member of her
church and co-founded the New Arrivals Ministry which assists the church
with monthly baby dedications. At her home church Kendra has also conducted
legal workshops to educate the congregation on various legal topics.
Kendra is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association (MSBA), Baltimore
City Bar Association, the D.C. Bar Association, the National Association
of Children’s Counsel, and the National Association of Women Business
Owners. She is also an organizing committee member of the Entertainment & Sports
Law Committee of the Maryland State Bar Association and was recently
appointed the Secretary of the new Entertainment & Sports Law Section
of the MSBA. She previously served as a member of the Board of Directors
for the Maryland Lawyers for the Arts.
